The Guinness the fiddle

the placeis the middleof Oriel

Following on the great success of Féile Oriel 2023, we are very excited about our plans for an amazing Féile Oriel 2024 this May.

The Guinness session trail will return with three full days of full on seisiúns across the town and villlages.

At Féile Oriel we are very keen to promote all aspects of our native culture and grow an ever expanding audience. We are delighted, once again, to present the wonderful talent from Cavan Monaghan Music Generation. Muineachan le Gaeilge will take to the streets over the weekend with their fun loving mix of song, dance and music trí ár teanga dhuchais. The ever expanding group Ceoilinn will take to the stage. This great initiative to encourage people to either return to music or begin playing an instrument in their middle years, under the tutelage of Noreen Boyle has proven to be inspirational for many “lapsed” ceoltoirs across the county and hinterland.

The grand finale of The Fiddler of Oriel (Junior U18 & Senior) will take place on Monday 6th May. The 2024 recipients of The Elders of Fiddling will be honoured for their significant contribution to the wellbeing and preservation of Irish fiddling.

Great shout out for Féile Oriel from the John Creedon show 📻

Our BIG news of course, the legendary Capercaillie Band are headlining our festival on Sunday

New collaboration with Bríd Harper and Ryan Molloy will be a very exciting and fitting launch on Friday 3rd of May.

The following day at 5pm a never before colloboration between Tim Edey and Donald Shaw will have sparks flying.

We welcome back our very own Blackwater Ceilí Band on the Saturday night... Jiggy Jiggy!

Féile Oriel wishes to thank all those bodies and individuals who made the 2023 festival such a major success.

To our sponsors (noted below) without whom we could not have brought this wonderful fiddle festival back to life.
